How it works

What does Scam Slayer do exactly?: It analyses the text of an SMS or a URL and determines whether it is a scam.
Do I need technical knowledge to use it?: No. Paste the message, tap Analyse, read the result.
Does it work with any kind of SMS?: With any text message. Also with URLs from WhatsApp, email or QR codes.
What should I do if the result is "Sketchy"?: Do not tap any link, do not reply, and verify via official channels.
Can it analyse QR codes?: Yes. Scan the QR with the app and Scam Slayer analyses the URL it points to.
What is the forensic report?: A PDF generated by the app with the analysis result, a verifiable timestamp and technical context.
Does the background scan drain my battery?: No. The background scanner activates only when a new SMS arrives.

Does the app read all my SMS automatically?: Only if you enable background scanning, which is optional.
Does Scam Slayer store my SMS text on its servers?: No. We do not store the full text of your SMS on any server after analysis.
Who sees the text of my messages?: No employee reads your messages manually. The process is fully automated.
Does the app need an internet connection?: Yes, for analysis. Your history of already-completed scans is available offline.
Is it GDPR-compliant?: Yes. Scam Slayer is designed to comply with the GDPR.
Do you sell my data to third parties?: No. Our business model is subscription-based, not advertising or data sales.

Is it free?: Yes. The free version includes everything most users need.
What does the Pro plan include?: Unlimited analyses, background scanning on Android, full history, forensic PDF reports and priority support.
Can I cancel at any time?: Yes. The subscription is managed directly through Google Play or the App Store.
Does it work on iPhone?: Yes. Available on Android 9+ and iOS 14+. Background scanning is Android-only.
